About

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT My work is deeply rooted in memory, survival, and the invisible emotional landscapes we carry within us. Growing up in a war-torn environment, I learned early on that fear and love often exist side by side. I was protected by my grandmother in the most fragile and extraordinary ways—hidden in cornfields, soothed to sleep with stories while danger lingered nearby. Those moments didn’t just shape my childhood; they shaped how I see the world. I am drawn to stories that explore what lies beneath the surface unspoken trauma, internal conflict, and the quiet resilience that defines us as human beings. I’m less interested in perfect characters and more compelled by flawed individuals navigating complex emotional truths. My films often live in that tension: between vulnerability and strength, silence and expression, survival and self-discovery. As a director, I value trust above control. I believe powerful performances come from creating a space where actors feel safe enough to take risks and honest enough to reveal something real. I guide through conversation rather than instruction, encouraging actors to find their own connection to the material. This process allows the story to breathe and evolve in an organic way. Stepping into acting myself has deepened this understanding. It has reminded me how exposed and delicate the process can be, and it continues to shape how I lead on set with empathy, patience, and respect for the craft. Ultimately, I make films to provoke feeling and reflection. I want audiences to see themselves not just in the characters, but in the questions the stories ask. Because sometimes the most powerful truths are the ones we don’t immediately recognize, but feel long after the screen fades to black.
